Wow, in just 3 short weeks I will be heading on a well deserved vacation with my daughter. We are taking a cruise together on one of the “Fun Ships” and I can’t wait to spend some real quality time with her. Last year we took our first cruise together with her older brother and it was such a fun time. So, we decided to do it again and that is one of the fantastic benefits of a membership with Global Resorts Network – access to all kinds of vacation opportunities.
So, this year we thought it would be even more fun to experience a cruise that really caters to the younger crowds while satisfying the needs of the adult cruiser. Fortunately, or unfortunately, my son and her brother is not able to join us this year. He started college this past September and is quite busy with his studies. We’ll get to spend quality time together in the spring time when he has spring break, so I look forward to that. This an an example of taking a fun-filled vacation that is available through the Global Resorts Network. …click here to read more
It was a crisp autumn morning in Atlanta on Thanksgiving Day 2009. I volunteered to help the Atlanta Marathon keep the runners safe. I was stationed at Peachtree and 28th Street. With a sweatshirt, coat, mittens and a yellow “CAUTION” sign stapled to a paint stirrer I was prepared to stay warm and to take my responsibilities seriously.
This was my first time as a volunteer for this event and wasn’t exactly sure what to expect. I was given instructions to keep the runners safe as they ran by the area I was supervising. This included making sure the runners stayed on course and didn’t meander into the traffic lanes and kept cars from entering or crossing the running lanes at the intersection of 28th street and Peachtree.
It wasn’t too long after being at my post at 7:30am that I spotted the first half marathoners appearing from over the “heart break hill” they had just ran up. It was very exciting to see them running my way. It started with a few, the leaders of the pack, and then followed by the “bubble”. Then there were the more casual half marathoners following that group with a soon appearance of the first marathoners. For the marathoner’s, it was their 21st mile marker when they reached my area of supervision. Boy, could those marathoner’s run – even after 21 miles!
There were a lot of runners and they all seemed so happy on such a festive day to be thankful. It amazed me that many of the runners were so genuinely thankful for my volunteering efforts to keep them safe. They would actually thank me as they ran by – it was so unexpected to hear that, and I felt so good that I could help. I even had runners recognize me and say “hi, hey I know you” from the Expo. I learned that there were approximately 11,000 half marathon runners, and about 1,100 marathon runners that day.
For the 2 previous days I had spent time manning a booth at the Atlanta Marathon Expo which was held at the Hotel Intercontinental in Buckhead. At the booth, I worked to educate runners and their supporters on new breakthrough products to help them maintain proper electrolyte balance while running, increase their energy levels as they tired while running, and overall healthful products. I got to meet some amazing nice people who truly “get it” when it comes to proper nutrition and ingesting healthful products.
I love being an independent distributor of enlyten products. I know that I’m helping good people realize there are better alternatives to nutraceuticals which contain zero sugars, zero carbs, and zero calories and yet taste good! I met some amazing runners – even one guy who runs a 50K and swears by the enlyten products. I couldn’t believe it. These products are so refreshing compared to everything else out there and such a pleasure and joy to introduce people to them.
I had the most incredible experiences at the Expo for the 2 days prior to the marathon and on Marathon day. I learned that I’m a great teacher and educator, learned how to be a cheer leader to complete strangers and new found friends and found out that I’m pretty darn good at directing traffic, and assisting runners who were in distress. It was a fantastic event that I truly was so happy that I participated in and volunteered for. I will definitely do this again and so glad that I could help a great organization like the Atlanta Track Club.
So why is it that many people struggle to become successful in network marketing opportunities? My guess is that the struggle is a result of people trying to follow and live other people’s dreams instead of their own – they are lacking or losing focus of that burning desire inside. A burning desire inside is the golden ticket to reaching the success one is looking for. The challenge is, of course, figuring out that burning desire. It is the “WHY” that must be present in order to succeed!
So, how do you figure out what your why is? A good place to start is to ask yourself what it is that is “driving” you to undertake a work at home opportunity. Is it because you’ve heard someone else who is successful in the business use their smooth tongue & words to describe the beauty and power that comes with success in this industry? Is it because you want a quick fix to your current financial situation? Is it because you got laid off and need another job? An honest look at your deep internal reasons will flush out the true desires.
After figuring out what it is that is “driving” you, then you need to be able to translate that “WHY” into benefits that you will achieve by solving that “WHY”. For me, I started out because I wanted to be my own boss. I didn’t want to answer to anybody else, and I wanted to be independent. I wanted to work smarter and not harder. I wanted to provide a lifestyle for me and my family, including helping my mom, that I was not able to do while working for someone else. I wanted the financial freedom to live a life design by choice and not that which would be dictated or tied to some else pulling the puppet strings. These WANTS are what reminded me to keep pushing forward to reach my goals.
The little bumps, bruises and sometimes big hurdles that occur along the path to success will NOT stop you from continuing onward because you know in your heart of hearts that success is there for you – you just have to want it bad enough to keep going forward and to do whatever it takes to get there guided by your honesty, integrity, belief and persistence values.

The world would be a much better place when people get involved in something BIGGER than themselves and help give back to the community. For me, I am a proud supporter of Joint Aid Management (JAM). Joint Aid Management is a South African founded, registered non profit Christian humanitarian relief and development organization, with 24 years experience in sustainable development.
I challenge each and everyone of you to do your part to help make the world a better place.
I am happy to report that I have currently raised enough support for 128 weeks of supply of enlyten nutraceuticals to the children in need.
